The National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) is looking for college table tennis players to compete in their first-ever NCTTA Singles tournament(s).

The country is divided into six Regions and 28 Divisions. Each of these Divisions will be hosting their own tournament with an opportunity to qualify players to the Regional competition. A national collegiate singles tournament will be held in Plano, Texas on April 13-15, 2012. Eighty men and forty women will be invited from the Regional singles competition to compete for the national title.

Mark your calendars! The 5th Annual Fred Martin Memorial Tournament has been scheduled to take place on March 17th, 2012. As usual, there will be generous prize money, beautiful trophies, free refreshment, free drinks and lots of fun. More details will be posted soon!

Our Thanksgiving party yesterday was a huge success! Thanks to all those who attended and all those who donated their time, food, and supplies! Please continue to support our club so we may continue having more festivities like this for our members in the future.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and to celebrate, we are having our annual Thanksgiving party on Wednesday, November 23, during our regular club hours! (We will be having open play as usual in addition to the Thanksgiving festivities.)

All members, friends, family are welcome. Available Food: Turkey, Potato Salad, Pumpkin Pies, Bean Casserole, Sushi, Dumplings - everything on the house!

Come play with us on November 23 and enjoy some delicious food!

Congratulations to the Fall 2011 League Playoff Finalists. The playoffs will take place on Saturday, November 12 during our regular Saturday club hours. Matches will begin at 9 AM sharp. Summer League 2011 will begin on Saturday, May 28. Enrollment is not necessary. You simply show up on that day by 8:45 am to sign up. The one-time fee is $10 which covers 8 sessions and the final playoff. Please be on time as the matches will start at 9 am sharp. We hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Thanksgiving party! We hope you all had a good time and enjoyed the food.

Gym Closure
The gym will be closed on the following dates:
- November 26, 27
- December 1, 3

Beginning December 4, the club's Saturday hours will be 8 AM to 11 AM (due to the start of the basketball season at the recreation center). The club should resume its 8 AM to 12 Noon Saturday schedule some time in March. Sorry for the inconvenience.

All finalists please be at the gym by 8:30 am on March 20 for the playoffs. If for any reason you cannot make it that day. please let Winston or one of the officers know ahead of time so that the next person down the line can be informed. The first and second place winners will receive a trophy.

Yesterday, the LBTTC "B" team played two matches: one against BOL at the Robofit Table Tennis Center in Torrance and one against Westside Whiplash at the Westside Table Tennis Center. LBTTC "B" lost to BOL, but came out victorious against Westside Whiplash. 1-1 all in a day's work -- not bad!

They beat the LATTA 5 team last night, 5 matches to 0! The LBTTC "B" team will be playing their first two league matches this Saturday, so wish them luck! Also, all match schedules will be posted on the club calendar.

The above matches are for the LATTF League competition. Partipating table tennis clubs in the Los Angeles area form teams and compete against other clubs' teams in their designated divisions. LBTTC has two teams participating in the team league competition: LBTTC "A" (in Division 3) and LBTTC "B" (in Division 4).

With the Youth Training Program coming February 17th, the club is holding a paddle drive. Please donate any paddles, blades, and/or rubber that you no longer need to the club! We will be using these for our youth participants in our upcoming youth training program!

The club will unfortunately be closed this Saturday, November 28, due to electrical work that Southern California Edison will be performing at the gym that day. In addition, as previously stated, the club will also be closed Wednesday, December 2, due to a week-long basketball tournament occurring at the gym. Regular club hours will resume on Saturday, December 5. See you then!

Please do not park in the Idearc parking lot this Saturday (November 21) due to tree and bush trimming; heavy machinery will be used in that lot, and this poses a safety issue. Please instead use the Recreation Department (front) parking lot. Thank you.
